Guava, (Psidium guajava), small tropical tree or shrub of the family Myrtaceae, cultivated for its edible fruits.Guavas are tropical trees originating in Central America. Their fruits are oval in shape with light green or yellow skin and contain edible seeds. Commonly used and eaten species is apple guava. Guava leaves are used as an herbal tea and the leaf extract as a supplement. Powder is obtained by grinding the dried guava to desired granulation. It is rich source of Vitamin A, B and C. It is good for diabetic patients.
